Millenium Energy Company worked with Sycamore Elementary School in Holt, MI, to replace their outdated boiler system with a more effective and energy efficient HVAC system. The school was looking for a solution that would keep the students warm during the frigid Michigan winters and cool in the often hot and humid summer, without consuming too much energy.
Consumers Energy presented the Holt School District with a $214,000 rebate check—the largest check of this kind to be issued in the state of Michigan. The money came thanks to a two-year, $500,000 project to upgrade the district’s energy system, including high-efficiency boilers and low-sodium lights. Millenium Energy Company designed the system and guided the project from start to finish.
The school district implemented a $4 million project, which included the installation of energy-efficient lighting, the replacement of a 160-ton chiller, low-loss window replacements, and upgrades to the heating and water systems.
